Acceasy, Easy to Read Easy to Access

Results of the project

ACCEASY aims to promote an inclusive European heritage, accessible to people with intellectual disabilities (DI).
The lack of accessibility of heritage from an intellectual point of view is a European problem. Although much progress has been made in terms of physical and sensory accessibility, despite the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, people with intellectual disabilities face barriers that prevent them from accessing and fully enjoying cultural heritage in all its forms. The lack of a specific regulation on cognitive accessibility recognised at the European level generates difficulties, as well as strong social exclusion.
ACCEASY aims to raise public awareness of the importance of Europe’s cultural heritage, its use by people with intellectual disabilities and its use as a tool to promote social inclusion.
