LINEup aims at identifying key success factors for quality education for all, by mapping and analysing the research design and findings of existing longitudinal data on students’ learning outcomes at primary and secondary level.
The project focuses on educational achievement and attainment of basic skills as key elements for personal development, employability, social inclusion and active citizenship. The overarching objective is to improve the evidence on what shapes educational outcomes over time and expand the knowledge base on student-centred interventions aiming at lifting the performance in basic skills and reducing early leaving from education and training, which are a key challenge across Europe.
Particular attention will be dedicated to cooperating with national authorities of the participating countries to identify and access longitudinal data and other administrative sources, and to validate, communicate and disseminate the findings at both European and national/local level.
The project overall will lead to formulate practical guidelines and policy and research recommendations on topics needing further investigation and elements to consider to reduce inequalities in education and promote a more supportive and equitable school environment.
The project envisages the publication of biannual newsletters, addressed to different target groups:
- ‘DID YOU KNOW?’ It is addressed to teachers or headmasters, parents or students, or simply interested in school education;
- ‘LESSONS LEARNED’ It is addressed to researchers, policymakers or civil servants of international and national governments and organisations.
