From October 26 to 29, Altheo Valentini, Nadine Innocenzi, and Lucrezia Rapo participated in a training course in Kingston, Jamaica, on Grant Proposal Writing, hosted by the Planning Institute of Jamaica, the government agency that coordinates the development of policies, plans, and programs for the country’s sustainable growth.
More than thirty representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations active in sustainable development and community initiatives took part in an intensive program that alternated between theoretical sessions and a practical co-design phase. Guided by the expertise of EGInA’s project designers and general manager, participants explored, both theoretically and practically, all the necessary stages for developing a successful project idea: from defining objectives to planning activities and work packages, through to dissemination and valorization of results.
During the course, five different project proposals were developed to meet the needs of the communities involved, and these will be further refined in the coming weeks through targeted online mentoring sessions.
Our thanks to the Planning Institute of Jamaica for their hospitality and to all participants for their intensive effort and dedication. Investing in the development of ideas with a strong social impact is one of EGInA’s pillars, and we are pleased to bring our expertise to communities so far away.
